What inspired you to become a Cosmetic Registered Nurse?
What inspired me to become a Cosmetic Registered Nurse is that I am able to combine my medical experience with an aesthetic touch in an industry that is constantly evolving with new technology and techniques. There is always something new to learn!
What was the most challenging part of your training?
The most difficult part of my training was mastering the various injecting techniques for different facial areas. Each technique requires precise depth, angle, and pressure control. However, this challenge actually became the most rewarding part of my journey because it pushed me to develop exceptional hand-eye coordination and an artistic appreciation for facial anatomy. Learning these specialised skills has given me the confidence to create natural, tailored results for each client, which is ultimately the most fulfilling part of being a cosmetic nurse.
What is your approach to cosmetic injectables?
My approach to cosmetic injectables is to enhance my clients natural features. I want my clients to leave the clinic and have people say – “you look great” rather than “what have you had done?”.
What do you love the most about being a Cosmetic Registered Nurse?
I love seeing my clients’ reactions to their before and after photos. They always leave the clinic with a spring in their step and a little more confident which makes my job very rewarding.
What is your favourite injectable concern to treat and why?
Lips. The instant gratification that clients get from this procedure is unmatched. The ability to enhance another person’s confidence with the flick of a needle is why I do what I do.
What are your favourite products to use on your skin?
I am obsessed with SkinCeuticals – their new Collagen III Amplifier is my favourite product. It is powered by Biotech Collagen Type III and a potent blend of multi-peptides and glycerin to stimulate collagen production. I’ve been using this product since December and have already seen significant change. This product coupled with treatment is a game-changer, I’ve seen a significant change in my skin since I started using this product in December.
What treatments have you had this year? How can we get skin just like yours?
As a busy mum of two boys, I spend a lot of time outdoors, at the beach in the pool, you name it. Therefore, I wear a lot of sunscreen and zinc. Due to this, I love a regular hydrafacial to clear my skin out after a build up of these products. Alongside this beautiful treatment, I plan to have my first Halo laser in winter this year and can’t wait to document the process.
What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?
My favourite thing to do outside of work is spending time with my husband, two boys and our Cavoodle, Nim. The ideal day for me includes a Sunday morning beach walk with a hot coffee in hand! I am also a huge foodie and love going out and trying new restaurants with a group of friends.
What is your favourite part of working at Youth Lab?
Our brilliant team has to be my favourite part of working at Youth Lab. I am so lucky to be surrounded by a group of intelligent and fun women. They all inspire me every day (I can’t forget our managing director Jon too!).
What treatment do you see becoming popular in 2025 and beyond?
My prediction for the top treatment for 2025 is Bio Stimulators! There has been a significant increase in clients wanting that “natural beauty” look, and Bio Stimulators otherwise known as Collagen stimulators are going to be the treatment to obtain that result.. Bio Stimulators are a type of semi-permanent dermal filler which work to stimulate the body’s collagen production to restore facial volume and improve skin structure. I am all about subtle, natural enhancements and this treatment proves to provide just that.
What is the one piece of skin advice you wish all of your clients would follow?
Three words that we learn from a very young age – slip, slop, slap!
SPF50+ is a non-negociable in my skincare routine and something I instill in my husband and kids. After all, it is the number one anti aging product.
