What inspired you to become a Cosmetic Registered Nurse?
My journey into becoming a Cosmetic Registered Nurse was inspired by a unique blend of my passion for healthcare and my love for aesthetics. I’ve always been driven to help people feel their best, not only physically but also emotionally. Combining my nursing background with my experience in makeup artistry felt like a natural progression, allowing me to merge creativity with medical expertise. Cosmetic nursing offers me the incredible opportunity to enhance confidence and make a real difference in someone’s life. I’m truly fortunate to be in a profession where I can positively impact others every single day.
What was the most challenging part of your training?
One of the most challenging aspects of my training was mastering the level of precision required for each procedure. With injectables, for example, the placement of the needle is crucial. The face has so many intricate structures—nerves, blood vessels, and muscles—and understanding how each injectable interacts with these structures was a steep learning curve. However, through constant practice, attending advanced training sessions, and learning from experienced mentors, I was able to gain confidence in my skills and techniques, ultimately developing the precision needed to perform these procedures effectively and safely.
What is your approach to cosmetic injectables?
My approach to cosmetic injectables is rooted in a philosophy of subtle enhancement. I believe in achieving natural-looking results that improve a client’s features without altering their appearance dramatically. I take the time to understand each client’s individual goals and concerns, and I work with them to create a treatment plan that fits their unique face and aesthetic. For me, it’s about enhancing their natural beauty and providing them with results that are harmonious with their features, so they still look like themselves, just a refreshed version
What do you love the most about being a Cosmetic Registered Nurse?
What I love most about being a Cosmetic Registered Nurse is the opportunity to help people feel more confident in their own skin. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about empowering clients to feel their best. The emotional transformation that comes from improving someone’s appearance is incredibly fulfilling. I also enjoy the continuous learning aspect of the profession. The field of cosmetic nursing is always evolving, with new treatments, techniques, and technologies emerging. I love staying on top of the latest trends and being able to offer the best possible care to my clients.
What is your favourite injectable concern to treat and why?
My favorite injectable concern to treat is with bio-collagen stimulators. These treatments work by stimulating the skin’s natural collagen production, which provides long-term improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall firmness. I love how bio-collagen stimulators offer gradual, natural results that not only enhance the skin’s appearance but also improve its overall health. It’s particularly rewarding to see clients achieve more youthful, radiant skin over time, as the collagen rebuilding process continues to improve the skin’s quality. I believe in the power of these treatments because they provide subtle, yet transformative results that support long-term skin vitality.
What are your favourite products to use on your skin?
My skincare routine is tailored to keep my acne-prone skin balanced and clear. One of my absolute favorite products is the Ultraceuticals Gentle Foaming Cleanser. It effectively cleanses my skin without stripping it, leaving it feeling refreshed and smooth. For exfoliation and resurfacing, I love the Skinceuticals Retexturising Activator Serum. It helps improve the texture of my skin and prevents any buildup that could lead to breakouts.
For hydration, I use the PCA Clearskin Moisturiser, which is lightweight and oil-free, perfect for acne-prone skin. To combat breakouts, I use the Skinceuticals Glycolic 10 once a week. The glycolic acid helps exfoliate the skin, unclog pores, and reduce congestion. I also rely on the Ultraceuticals Ultimate Clear Treatment once a week to target breakouts and keep my skin clear without over-drying.
These products have become essential in my routine to maintain clear, healthy skin while preventing new breakouts from forming
What treatments have you had this year? How can we get skin just like yours?
This year, I’ve had a mix of both medical and dermal treatments to maintain and improve my skin. For medical treatments, I’ve had Sculptra to stimulate collagen production for long-term skin rejuvenation, and Botox to smooth out fine lines and prevent new ones from forming.
In terms of dermal treatments, I’ve been a huge fan of skin needling. It’s an excellent way to improve skin texture, promote collagen production, and address any scarring or unevenness.
To get skin like mine, it’s all about combining effective treatments with a solid skincare routine. Be consistent with hydration, exfoliation, and sun protection, and don’t be afraid to explore treatments that address your unique skin needs. Always listen to your skin and treat it with the care it deserves
What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I love to travel and explore new places, whether it’s nearby or somewhere far off. Traveling not only allows me to unwind but also gives me a chance to experience new cultures, foods, and lifestyles, which is always inspiring. I also cherish spending quality time with my family, whether it’s enjoying a meal together or simply catching up. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies—it’s a great way for me to relax and experiment with new recipes, especially when I can make something that brings everyone to the table. Of course, I also enjoy eating out and discovering new restaurants, particularly those with unique or authentic dishes that spark my interest.
What is your favourite part of working at Youth Lab?
What I love about working at Youth Lab is the supportive, collaborative environment. The team here is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what we do, and we constantly motivate each other to learn and grow. We have access to some of the best products and technologies in the industry, which means we can offer our clients the highest standard of care. I also love the fact that we get to build long-term relationships with our clients. Many of them return for regular treatments, and seeing their progress and how they feel about themselves is so rewarding.
What treatment do you see becoming popular in 2025 and beyond?
In 2025 and beyond, I see bio-collagen stimulators becoming increasingly popular. These treatments work by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production over time, leading to long-lasting, natural-looking results. As people shift towards more subtle, long-term approaches to skin rejuvenation, bio-collagen stimulators will become a top choice for those looking to improve skin texture, restore volume, and enhance overall skin firmness. The gradual yet noticeable effects these treatments provide make them ideal for individuals seeking to maintain youthful, healthy skin without drastic changes. Additionally, I believe treatments that focus on skin hydration and rejuvenation will continue to grow in popularity, as they offer a more holistic, preventative approach to skincare
What is the one piece of skin advice you wish all of your clients would follow?
The one piece of skin advice I would give to all my clients is to never skip sunscreen. Protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays is the single most effective way to prevent premature aging, pigmentation, and reduce the risk of skin cancer. Sunscreen should be applied daily, even when it’s cloudy or you’re indoors, as UV rays can still penetrate windows. Incorporating SPF into your daily routine is an investment in your skin’s health and will keep it looking youthful and radiant for years to come.
