The Sciton Clear V 1064nm Nd:YAG Vascular laser is the industry leader in the treatment of blood vessels and vascular lesions.Youth Lab are proud to introduce this state of the art technology to Western Australia.
Simply unmatched in the treatment of vascular lesions, broken blood vessels, capillaries, spider veins and redness the Clear V is powerful, yet comfortable with minimal recovery.
The Clear V uses 1064nm wavelength to effectively eliminate vessels within the skin, leaving the skin looking clearer and more refined.
The system works by selectively heating targeted veins resulting in powerful absorption of oxyhemoglobin (the red colour in blood), a process that provides superior clinical results.
What can the Clear V Vascular laser treat?
- Capillaries
- Spider veins
- Blue veins around the eyes
- Cherry angiomas
- Rosacea
- Vascular lesions including port wine stains
It is important to note that the Clear V does not treat deep leg veins, reticular veins or varicose veins. Specialist input and further investigations may be required.
Visible capillaries or vessels are most commonly found on the face or legs, and could be the result of several things. Rosacea, alcohol consumption, weather changes, trauma to the skin, pregnancy, aging, genetics, certain skin disorders, exposure to the elements, and more can cause them to appear.
Capillary walls are usually very elastic, but can lose their ability to contract if they’re frequently dilated, aggravated, inflamed or weakened, causing them to remain enlarged and visible.
Vascular lasers treat conditions associated with broken or abnormal blood vessels by very selectively targeting haemoglobin.
The Clear V emits a unique, high-power laser beam that is absorbed by the targeted blood vessels without affecting the surrounding tissues.
As the laser delivers pulses of light energy to the vessels, the heat generated by the treatment can create a localised clot or “blockage”, causing the outer wall of the vessels to shrink. This reduces blood flow to the area, consequently diminishing the visual impact of redness, and encouraging the body to remove the damaged or destroyed vessel to achieve a clear complexion.
Depending on the size of the vessels this can sometimes result in immediate visual clearance!
How does Clear V Vascular treatments differ to BBL treatments?
Both Sciton ClearV and Sciton BBL devices can be used successfully to target unwanted vessels. Different wavelengths or “colours of lights” are selected depending on the size, colour and location within the skin of the vessels or vessel networks.
Technically not a laser, but still a light based device the Sciton BBL device employs Broad Band Light to target unwanted redness and vessels in the same way as the ClearV 1064nm Laser but uses the 590nm, 560nm or 515nm wavelengths or “colours of light”.
These wavelengths target the more superficial or upper layers of the skin whereas the 1064nm Clear V laser can travel more deeply, perfect for larger, deeply rooted vessels.
Your treating clinician will select the device and wavelength best suited for you. Sometimes this can include a combination of both devices and treatment protocols.
