The Aura Laser Facial is a customised facial exclusive to Youth Lab and has been designed by our medical team.
The treatment delivers optimal results with minimal down time for those who may not be ready for a full laser procedure or who need optimal results without the fuss.
The Aura Laser Facial works with a non-ablative laser wavelength to stimulate collagen production, plump the skin and deliver an immediate glow and refined skin texture. It is a similar treatment to the popular Clear and Brilliant treatment but delivers more impressive results.
This is the perfect laser facial to maintain youthful looking skin and prepare the skin for a big event.
The Aura Laser Facial is a multi-step facial involving the gentle heat from the laser followed by a bespoke and personalised infusion of hydration and peptide solutions followed by a peptide calming mask to reduce heat and redness from the skin.
The treatment finished with the Healite II LED which further stimulates healing and recovery following the laser facial. Having these enhancers post treatment help the skin to rejuvenate and repair while giving optimal results.
The Aura Laser Facial delivers visible benefits to the skin which become evident within only a few days. Results continue over many months as collagen stimulation occurs.

The Aura Laser Facial is performed by our Cosmetic Registered Nurses and Dermal Therapists. It is the perfect treatment for those who are new to laser treatments and is a gentle build up to our more intensive Halo Laser treatment.

What does the treatment involve?
Following your consultation a local anaesthetic cream will be applied to your face to ensure complete comfort during the laser facial. This will be left on for approximately 30-45 minutes. Safety shields will be applied to your eyes and once the face is numb the treatment will begin. The first step of the facial involves passing the laser over the skin in different directions.
This part of the treatment will feel like a warm, prickling sensation. The discomfort level does vary from person to person depending on their ability to tolerate heat.
Following the laser aspect of the treatment, which takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, a bespoke infusion of hydrating serums is massaged into the skin, followed by a cooling and rejuvenating peptide mask. The treatment is completed with a red or yellow light Healite II LED. The total treatment time is approximately 45 minutes.
How long do results last?
The results and longevity of the treatment depends on the condition of the skin prior to treatment. When used in relatively healthy skin for fine lines, wrinkles and mild to moderate sun damage results will be evident after only one treatment.
Once the results are evident the skin will appear smoother and more refined with a decrease in sun damage, less fine lines and wrinkles and a clearer complexion.
We recommend an initial course of 3 treatments every 4 weeks for optimal results
What happens after my treatment?
Following the treatment a cooling balm and healing Peptide mask will be applied as well as cool towels and a cooling device. The skin will feel very warm and may appear red and feel tight. Swelling may also occur a day or two following treatment. This is normal but can often be a bit confronting.
Following treatment the skin will appear red or pink and there may be visible swelling. It is important to maintain the moisture levels of the skin at this time and apply the recommended moisturisers.
Dryness and Peeling may occur however many will simply feel very dry and tight, with a sandpaper feel to the skin for 2-3 days. It is important not to pick at the skin at any time as this can result in infection, scarring and abnormal pigmentation. Micro crusting or bronzing of the skin may occur in those with deep underlying pigmentation.
It is important to avoid any sun exposure following the treatment and always wear broad spectrum SPF if going outside. Avoiding cosmetics is needed for the first few days and no active cosmeceutical products (including vitamin A and vitamin C) for the duration of the healing process or until recommended by your therapist.
What are the risks of treatment?
When performed by experienced practitioners the Aura Laser Facial is very safe. The results speak for themselves, however as with any treatment involving a medical grade laser there are some associated risks.
- Redness which can persist for a few weeks after treatment.
- Swelling which can occur for the first 3-5 days if higher, more intense settings used.
- Outbreak of HSV (cold sores) in susceptible individuals, often more severe than usual. We can provide prophylactic antiviral medication for this reason.
- Mild outbreaks of pimples and acne, this is due to the sebum being released from the deeper sebaceous glands and also the use of the oily after care creams
Rarer more serious side effects include:
- Risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation – this is pigmentation changes that usually occur in darker skin types.
- Bacterial or fungal infections. These can easily be treated with antibiotics and tend to only occur in very deep treatments
- Scarring or burns which is extremely uncommon. This is often due to inexperienced operators.
